Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Erika Emery is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Since entering the field in 2016, Erika has worked extensively with AuDHD (Autism, ADHD, and dual diagnosis) and comorbid concerns including pathological demand avoidance (PDA), executive function, social pragmatics, and social anxiety.
Erika obtained their masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University and began working as a BCBA in 2019. In 2021, Erika joined the team at Alpine Learning Group, where, over the course of three-years, she grew the social skills group program to a scale of seventy-weekly sessions, sixteen total groups, and oversaw a team of fifteen instructors.
Erika is dedicated to providing neurodiversity-affirming group social skills intervention and education (staff training, workshops, and curriculum development). In all aspects of their work, Erika prioritizes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; especially LGBTQ+ inclusivity and acceptance.
Erika is especially passionate about using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in their practice, both in direct-therapy and caregiver training, and using a values-based approach. Erika is committed to providing instruction where motivation is strongest (and loves when that means creating an elaborate art project or Dungeons and Dragons campaign).
