Andrea Footerman, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist and NJ Certified School Psychologist, has been providing individual, group, family therapy, assessment, and school consultation services since 1993.
She specializes in working with children, teens, and adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, OCD,ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Executive Functioning Disorder, SocialPragmatic Language Disorder, and Learning Disabilities.
Dr. Footerman offers multiple ongoing therapy groups from preteen through adult which are well matched based upon age, functional levels, and client needs. Several modalities are integrated during individual and group therapy, including Social Skills Training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training, Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Social Thinking/perspective taking, and Executive Functioning strategies. Dr. Footerman utilizes a systems approach in working together with the family and community, collaborating with parents and school districts on behalf of her clients.
Training high school and college students seeking to learn about the field of psychology is a special interest, as she facilitates opportunities for them to become mentors to individuals with disabilities. Dr. Footerman has provided consultation and staff development to several school districts and presented at the Asperger/Autism Spectrum Education Network (ASPEN).
Additional services offered include: functional assessment; social skills evaluation; education and advocacy at school meetings; report/recommendations for IEP and 504 plan development; sensitivity training; and psycho education in the steps to obtain meaningful employment, workplace accommodations, and independent life skills.
